SkySports football pundit Guillem Balague has said he expects Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta to take up a role with Manchester City this summer.
Spanish midfielder Arteta is out of contract with Arsenal at the end of June. The Mirror reported this week that Arteta could stay with Arsenal to take up a coaching role, despite interest from both Manchester City and Tottenham.
Balague, responding to a fan on Twitter, says he believes the veteran is City bound this summer.
I think Arteta to City as a coach will happen... https://t.co/mbfJjmm8V1— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) May 13, 2016
He would follow Patrick Vieira in becoming another former Arsenal captain to work at Manchester City. Vieira headed up the Elite Development Squad and is now currently undertaking his first role as manager at sister club New York City.
The increased lure of joining City is the chance to work with incoming boss Pep Guardiola, but Arsene Wenger would surely hope that learning under his tutelage would be a more attractive option.
