The Rock, Kevin Hart and now Jack Black: Tenacious D frontman in talks to join Jumanji cast

A new version of a family classic is set for a 2017 release with an all-star cast.

According to a report from The Wrap, Jack Black is in talks to join the cast of the Jumanji reboot.

Actors already confirmed for the project include Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart and when you consider the original it will be interesting to see what is in store for that trio this time round.

Back in 1995 Robin Williams starred in the much-loved adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s children’s book of the same name, telling the story of a man who was trapped inside a board game as a child and has returned to the real world 26 years later.

Hollywood has a habit of rebooting movies of the past rather than opting for something original and there will be plenty of people out there who feel this is a film the world does not need right now…or ever.

Still, with Black potentially joining up with Johnson and Hart it is set to take a considerable amount of money at the box office, and at the end of the day that is what it is all about.

The new version of Jumanji will be directed by Jake Kasdan with an initial release date of July 2017.
