Gary Hooper has reacted to Norwich City’s relegation by posting the message ‘what a shame’ on social media site Twitter.
Hooper was sold by Norwich to Sheffield Wednesday in January, after he had a difficult time at Carrow Road.
The former Celtic striker never managed to fully establish his place as Norwich’s main man during his time at the East Anglian side.
His initial message when the Canaries went down was accused of being sarcastic by some supporters, but he quickly posted another tweet to clarify the meaning behind it.

Hooper insisted that he the post was heartfelt, as he was gutted for his former teammates.
Hooper could now leapfrog his old side, as Wednesday have booked a place in the Championship play offs.
Since moving to Hillsborough the former Celtic striker has been in fine form, and he has helped the Owls claim a place in the top six.
Wednesday are now just three matches away from being a Premier League team next season.
The first leg of Carlos Carvalhal’s side’s play off semi-final comes against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday evening.
