Report: QPR eye McCrory

The 26-year-old Irishman has attracted interest from QPR, say reports.

Queens Park Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is plotting a reunion with his former Burton Albion player Damien McCrory, according to Get West London.

The 26-year-old endeared himself to the Dutch manager throughout his season-long stint at Burton, in which Hasselbaink led the club to promotion into League One.

McCrory, a left wing-back, netted five times in 36 League Two outings under the Premier League legend that season and, according to Get West London, the 44-year-old wants to bring him to Loftus Road.

The Irishman is out of contract with Albion this summer and the report goes on to claim that QPR would need only have to better Burton's offer in order to nab him.

He apparently ticks all of the boxes in regards to qualities which Hasselbaink is looking for, and should he sign it would represent the R's second swoop of a Burton man this year, having signed Nasser El-Khayati in February.

It is an important transfer window for Hasselbaink as he looks to enjoy a successful first full season in West London, but he must do so on a relatively tight budget following a shift in spending policy at the capital club.
