Report: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp interested in signing Hoffenheim attacker Kevin Volland, who has £14.1m release clause

Rhein-Neckar-Arena - 1899 Hoffenheim

The German international is said to be on his way this summer.

This summer could prove to be a massive one for Liverpool and their boss Jurgen Klopp.

The German has not yet signed a single player for the club, currently doing wonders with the squad left behind by Brendan Rodgers.

So this summer Klopp will want to bring in some of his own players.

One potential target appears to be Hoffenheim striker Kevin Volland, at least according to a report from Sport Bild.

They claim that Liverpool are interested in the player, who has a release clause of €18 million (£14.1 million).

Liverpool will have competition for the services of Volland, with Bild also reporting that RB Leipzig, Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the player.

Volland has scored eight goals this season in 35 appearances and is also a regular in the German national team – with six caps.

A forward, who can play out wide or through the middle, he is certainly a Jurgen Klopp style player who would fit in to the current Liverpool system.

Liverpool fans may want to keep tabs on this developing transfer story, as Klopp looks to impose his philosophy on Liverpool’s playing squad.
