Rangers duo Barrie McKay and Lee Wallace have been called up to the Scotland national team.

Rangers duo Jordan Thompson and James Tavernier have taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate teammates Barrie McKay and Lee Wallace on getting called up to the latest Scotland national squad.

Defender Wallace and winger McKay have been called up by Scotland national team coach Gordon Strachan for upcoming friendly matches against Italy and France.

Rangers midfielder Thompson and defender Tavernier have praised the duo for their international recognition, and so has goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

Rangers are having a fabulous season and have been hugely successful already.

Mark Warburton’s side won the Scottish Championship title with ease and have got automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Gers have also clinched the Scottish Challenge Cup and have progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup.

Wallace and McKay have been two of the best players for Rangers this campaign, and they deserve to be part of the Scotland squad for upcoming friendly matches against Italy and France.

The Gers will take on Hibernian in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow this month.
