New DC Comics comedy starring Community and Firefly favourites picked up by NBC

Powerless

Powerless will air on NBC later this year after being picked up for the 2016-2017 season.

At a time when superhero films and TV shows are more prevalent than ever before, it is no surprise that a new one has received a series order. But this one is a little different.

As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, NBC have picked up DC Comic’s comedy Powerless, a show that stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk and Danny Pudi.

If you cannot get behind a show with one of the best things to come out of both Firefly and Community in Tudyk and Pudi respectively, then frankly there is no hope for you.

The show takes place in the DC universe, which means heroes, villains and, well, ordinary people.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out but it certainly has a superb cast and if they get it right it could fill the void left by Community itself as the next great and wonderfully weird comedy.

Powerless will be a 30-minute show and ensures DC continues to have a very healthy number of vehicles on TV during the 2016-2017 season.
