Frank de Boer is interested in becoming the new Everton manager, his brother Ronald de Boer has told Sky Sports.
The 45-year-old Dutchman has left the managerial role at Eredivisie club Ajax, while Everton have parted company with Roberto Martinez.
"Frank is interested in the Everton job, but it's not up to him to make the move, that's up to the club,” Ronald de Boer told Sky Sports. “In my eyes he's the right man for that job.
"He thought he was going to fulfil his ambition of managing in the Premier League but talks with Tottenham collapsed at the last minute.
"When you see what Ronald Koeman has done at Southampton I would argue that Frank is at least as good as him when you see what he has achieved at Ajax.”
Koeman has done a brilliant job at Southampton for the past two seasons and has proven himself in the Premier League.
Frank de Boer did a great job at Ajax as well, winning the Eredivisie title four times, but it cannot be said for certain that he would be a success at Everton.
The Toffees are not in a great state at the moment and are set to finish outside the top 10 in the Premier League.
Frank de Boer would find it hard at Goodison Park, especially if some of the key players are sold in the summer transfer window.
Moreover, there would be massive expectations on the Dutchman, who would be expected to challenge for a top-six finish at least in the Premier League next season.
