The Owls will meet Brighton on Friday in the first leg of their semi-final.
Fernando Forestieri has insisted that Sheffield Wednesday are under no pressure in the play-offs and need to enjoy the occasion given how long its been since they were last there, the Sheffield Star reports.
Carlos Carvalhal's side face Brighton in the first leg of their semi-final on Friday. And with the Owls going into the contest as underdogs after the Seagulls finished three places higher than Wednesday, the 26-year-old claimed that all of the pressure is on Chris Hughton's side.
"We need to enjoy this moment because it has been 16 years since the club were in the Premier League," he told the Star. "We are not under a lot of pressure."
While Wednesday have arguably been deemed as outsiders for the final Premier League place, Carvalhal's men stand an excellent chance.
Few expected the Owls to be in contention for a top six spot at the start of the campaign, given that they finished their three previous seasons in the bottom half of the table and had appointed a manager who had no experience of English football and had struggled to stay at any of his previous 15 clubs for any considerable period of time.
However, they remained consistent throughout the campaign to take sixth place. And with Brighton coming into the game off the back of the disappointment of missing out on the top two, the momentum may well be with the Owls, even if they are the underdogs.
