The former Three Lions captain says Dele Alli plays without fear and will want to showcase how good he is this summer.

Former England captain David Beckham has said, as quoted by the Daily Mail, that every England fan will want to see Dele Alli on the pitch at Euro 2016 because of his fearless attitude.

Alli has enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season at Spurs since linking up with his new club in the summer following a move from MK Dons and has propelled himself into the national consciousness.

The 20-year-old has scored 10 goals and added nine assists in his debut Premier League campaign, also contributing two assists in the Europa League, and was rewarded for his superb displays by being named the PFA Young Player of the Year.

That club form has also seen him make an impression at international level, with the midfielder winning six caps since his debut in October and scoring his first goal for England in the 2-0 friendly win over France in November.

The only negative has been that Alli has been criticised on occasion for his occasionally tempestuous nature, which saw him get in trouble in recent weeks when he was banned for Spurs' final three matches of the season after appearing to punch West Bromwich Albion midfielder Claudio Yacob.

Though that was a bridge too far, Beckham, who won 115 caps for England, believes the youngster's fearless nature means that all England fans - no matter their club loyalties - will want to see him on the pitch for Roy Hodgson's side in France this summer.

Beckham said, as quoted by the Daily Mail: "I like Dele Alli as a player because he plays with no fear. He is a young and confident player who is not afraid to show how good he is on the field.

"Every fan, every England fan, every Tottenham fan wants to see him step onto the field and do well at Euro 2016."

Hodgson and England fans may be forgiven for seeing Alli's suspension for the final weeks of the season as a bonus, with the player likely to be fit and rested for the Three Lions' final warm-up matches at the end of the month.
