Norwich got promoted from the Championship at the end of last season, but they have gone back down to the second tier of English football.
Sunderland’s 3-0 victory over Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening confirmed the Canaries’ drop to the Championship.
Johnson, who joined Derby from Norwich in the summer of 2015, has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at Alex Neil’s side’s relegation.
The 25-year-old Spaniard, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, played for the Canaries on loan from Liverpool in 2011.
Sad to see my old club @NorwichCityFC go down tonight. Had some great times there. Feel for the fans and everyone connected to the club.— Bradley Johnson (@BradJohnson15) 11 May 2016
OTBC!!! canaries will be back soon!!!— Daniel Pacheco (@dani37pacheco) May 11, 2016
I'm sure Carrow road will be there as usual. I had an amazing time there , and canaries will fight to be back soon. No doubt!— Daniel Pacheco (@dani37pacheco) May 11, 2016
It should not be a surprise to anyone that Norwich have gone down, as they were one of the favourites for the drop right from the start of the season..
The Canaries do have a team that can compete in the Championship, and the fans will hope that they end up in the top six again next season.
