According to a recent report in The Mirror, Everton are looking for candidates to replace Martinez in the summer.
One of the reported candidates is Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, who himself is in danger of getting the sack.
According to a report in The Daily Mail last month, Watford’s performances and results in the second half of the season are a concern.
If Everton do sack Martinez and Watford get rid of Flores, then the Merseyside outfit should make an approach for the 51-year-old.
Flores is a truly brilliant manager, and he would be the perfect man to take the Toffees forward.
The Spaniard ticks all the key boxes to become the Everton manager, if indeed Martinez is sacked.
The former Spain international defender has experience of managing bigger clubs, such as Atletico Madrid and Valencia.
Flores achieved success at Atletico and Valencia as well, and has done quite well at Watford.
Moreover, the former Real Madrid right-back has worked with big-name players, and he would have no problem managing top players if Everton sign them in the summer transfer window.
Flores’s playing style is quite entertaining and attacking as well, and he also pays as much attention on defence as he does on attack.
Everton are a bigger club than Watford, and Flores’s history of managing big teams makes him a great candidate for the managerial job at Goodison Park.
