Sanches completed a move to Bayern Munich yesterday.
It was announced yesterday that Sanches will join Bayern Munich from Benfica in a deal which sees an initial £28 million fee paid, that reportedly could be worth as much as £63 million in the future.
Sanches was strongly linked with a potential move to Old Trafford beforehand, but the Mirror reports that they moved on from the player in order to look at other targets but it also states it is unclear as to the reasons behind United not making a bid for the 18-year-old.
As a result, there have been a few questions about United's approach to the transfer market ahead of the summer but there are so many unanswered questions going into the close season that also need to be addressed - most urgently, who will be the manager? That is likely to have a big effect on which players are going to ultimately arrive at the club.
It will be interesting to see what transfer activity is like at United this summer.
The past two summers under the management of Louis van Gaal has seen some big spending and it would be of little surprise if United were to splash the cash again. It is simply a case of who will be the person that is allowed to spend it?
