Could Adam Lallana really make the switch from Liverpool to Premier League competitors Tottenham?
At the weekend Tottenham's midfield was exposed without the suspended Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli, and with Champions League football to play next season, it is a position they need to strengthen.
What is less certain though is whether Lallana would force his way into the first choice XI, and if he would have to dislodge Christian Eriksen in order to do so.
Lallana has been a Liverpool player for two seasons, since moving from Southampton, where he played under current Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
This campaign he has netted four goals and provided six assists in the Premier League from 22 starts, plus three goals and one assist in 10 Europa League starts.
Tottenham are one of the clubs Liverpool would be hoping to overtake next season as they bid to finish at least in the top four, and selling to a rival could backfire.
Liverpool fans have had their say on the rumours on social media, with mixed response...
Is there anyone who would really sell Lallana this summer even after his massive improvement? Pivotal in our attacking play imo. #LFC— LFC Berta (@brockroff) May 10, 2016

Spurs wants to buy Lallana for £20m. I'd be a quick and happy seller at that price. #LFC— Goran H (@Goranh75) May 10, 2016
Lallana would be class at Spurs. Shame he's ours though! Klopp loves him - he'll be bamboozling defenders in a red shirt next season. #LFC— Reece (@rewillUK) May 9, 2016
Tottenham supporters themselves are not convinced, unsure that Lallana would instantly improve the first team.
At 28-years-old he would be one of the more senior players in the squad, yet lacks experience of Champions League football barring fleeting appearances last season as Liverpool crashed out in the group stages.
