Stiliyan Petrov and Gary Gardner have wished Aston Villa’s under-21 side luck on social media site Twitter, ahead of their match against Arsenal later this evening.
Villa take on the Gunners in the play off final later, as they look to gain promotion to the top division.
Kevin MacDonald’s side have enjoyed an excellent campaign to date, and Petrov has promised to be in attendance tonight to cheer the club’s youngsters on, with Gardner hoping his side's prospects can grab a victory.

Petrov currently is part of the backroom staff at Aston Villa, but he has admitted that he would like to return to playing next campaign.
Villa’s youngsters finished their league campaign in fourth place, while Arsenal ended up in second position - but the results between the two sides have favoured MacDonald’s men.
Villa’s development squad beat Arsenal both times they met in the regular season, and they will be hoping for a similar result tonight.
Jordan Lyden, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Kevin Toner could all play a part for Villa’s under-21’s tonight, after appearing for the first-team recently.
