Sol Bamba says that Leeds United need to sign players in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United defender Sol Bamba has told the club’s official website that signings are needed in the summer transfer window.
The Leeds captain believes that the West Yorkshire outfit need one or two more players for the 2016-17 campaign.
“We’re definitely in a better shape,” Bamba told Leeds’s official website. “We still need one or two more players and there’s still a lot of work to be done to continue moving the club forward.”
Leeds failed to finish in top 10 of the Championship this season and endured yet another disappointing campaign.
The current Whites’ squad is not good enough to challenge for the top six, but at least in the final weeks of the 2015-16 campaign they were still in contention of ending up in the top 10.
What Leeds need to do in the summer is make a decision on head coach Steve Evans’s future and then allow him - or his replacement - to sign good players.
The West Yorkshire outfit may be one of the biggest clubs in England, but it is unlikely that they will challenge for a top-two finish in the Championship next season.
What Leeds can do is push for the playoffs, and they need to identify and sign players who would help them do just that.
