Report: Manchester United plan to raid Celtic for 15-year-old talent Daniel Church

Celtic U-20s

Celtic defender Daniel Church is reportedly a target for Manchester United.

According to ESPN, Manchester United are interested in signing Celtic teenager Daniel Church this summer, having already failed to land Jack Aitchison from the Bhoys.

United have seen young players like Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford thrive this season, and it seems that the Red Devils are keen to bring in more talented youngsters.

Waterford defender Lee O'Connor from Waterford, FC Zurich striker Nishan Burkhart and Feyenoord winger Tahith Chong have all joined United recently, and whilst there is some confusion surrounding the future of manager Louis van Gaal, United are continuing their recruitment drive.

ESPN report that United are keen to land Celtic defender Daniel Church at the end of the season, having impressed for the Bhoys Under-17's.

Church, 15, has caught the eye of United scouts this season, having played his part in Celtic's 4-0 Glasgow Cup win over Rangers last month.

United have already failed to land Church's 16-year-old team-mate Jack Aitchison, but are now interested in signing Church this summer in a surprise raid on the Bhoys.

The Bhoys have seen Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor come up through the ranks, and whilst they would no doubt love to see Church do the same in the coming years, the lure of heading to Old Trafford could be too much to turn down for the young defender.
