Leicester City are reportedly pursuing Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

According to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City are planning to make a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani this summer.

The Foxes have clinched the Premier League title after a simply unbelievable season, with Claudio Ranieri's men going from pre-season favourites for relegation to the top dogs in English football.

Winning the Premier League means that Leicester have now qualified for next season's Champions League, and whilst this season has been beyond anybody's wildest dreams, manager Ranieri must look to bring in some new signings to help Leicester compete in multiple competitions.

One area that Leicester may look to strengthen is up front, as whilst Jamie Vardy starred this season, the likes of Shinji Okazaki, Leonardo Ulloa and the returning Andrej Kramaric could all be upgraded on - and Ranieri appears to have a target in mind.

Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Leicester have identified Sporting Lisbon's Islam Slimani as the man to partner Vardy in the Champions League, forming a potentially devastating duo.

Slimani, 27, is a team-mate of Leicester star Riyad Mahrez with the Algerian national team, and has enjoyed by far his best season to date.

After scoring ten goals and 15 goals respectively in his first two seasons in Portugal, Slimani has smashed a stunning 30 goals in 45 games this season, become hot property in the process.

Now though, Slimani - a strong target man with great aerial ability - is being seen as the man to partner Vardy, with Leicester seemingly ready to make a summer bid and reunite him with Mahrez at the King Power Stadium in what could be an ideal move.
