Ray Stewart predicted on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, May 10) that West Ham United will compete for a top-four or a top-five finish in the Premier League for the next five years.
“I think in the next five years, West Ham are going to be in the top four or five every year, I think,” said the former West Ham defender.
West Ham are having a great season in the Premier League and could end up in the top six.
Until recently, the Hammers were in the running for a Champions League place, and that is massive progress from last season.
The London outfit will leave the Boleyn Ground at the end of the season and will move to the Olympic Stadium.
Playing in front of over 50,000 fans from next season is certainly going to boost West Ham’s chances of future success, especially if they are able to make some good signings in the summer transfer window.
Stewart’s prediction that the Hammers will regularly finish in the top four or top five in the Premier League is quite bold and unrealistic.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are the main clubs for the top four.
Would West Ham be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham for a Champions League place year after year?
