HITC Sport understands Chesterfield have won the race for the non-league striker.
Chesterfield have fended off interest from a number of clubs to sign prolific non-league forward Kristian Dennis, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Dennis has spent this season on loan at Macclesfield from National League rivals Stockport and he has been a revelation, netting 23 goals in 39 appearances.
His form saw Dennis attract a lot of interest from Football League clubs during the January transfer window, but Macclesfield managed to keep hold of the forward.
Chesterfield have been keeping tabs on Dennis's situation and they have now decided to follow up their interest with a firm offer for the player.
Dennis's contract at Stockport ends this summer and Chesterfield have moved quickly to offer him a deal to join the League One club.
Dennis began his career at Macclesfield, making four League Two appearances before dropping into non-league.
After brief spells with Woodley Sports, Ashton United and Mossley he enjoyed a prolific spell at Curzon Ashton, earning a move to Stockport in 2013 and now Chesterfield are ready to offer him a chance to return to the professional ranks at the Proact Stadium.
