West Ham face United in their final ever competitive match at Upton Park, and they are determined to give their famous ground the send off it deserves.
However, United have their own reasons for wanting to win the tie, as they close in on a top four spot.
The Red Devils know that maximum points from their last two fixtures would secure them a place in the Champions League, and Hamann has backed them to make it into Europe’s premier competition.
“It’s a massive game, but I fancy United to beat West Ham tonight and sneak into fourth place,” the former Liverpool midfielder said. “When the chips are down they usually have performed.”
United looked to have no chance of making it into the top four, but a collapse from their near neighbours Manchester City has given them reason for optimism.
The Red Devils go into the match in good form, and on the back of a 1-0 win over Norwich City.
West Ham, on the other hand, lost their last match 4-1 against Swansea City, but they should be backed by a excited home crowd this evening.
If West Ham are able to win it will move up above Southampton, and into a European qualification space once again.
