Danny Mills picks his Flop of the Season

Raheem Sterling

Danny Mills is disappointed with Raheem Sterling’s performance for Manchester City since his move from Liverpool in the summer of 2015.

Former Leeds United and Manchester City defender Danny Mills has told Sportlobster that Raheem Sterling is his Flop of the Season.

Mills believes that Sterling has failed to do much at Manchester City this campaign following his move from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer of 2015.

"Raheem Sterling,” the former England international right-back told Sportlobster when asked for his thoughts on Flop of the Season. “Such a disappointment for the huge price tag and initial potential he showed at Liverpool.”

Sterling joined City from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer of 2015 after a good season at Anfield.

According to BBC Sport, the Citizens had to pay the Reds an initial transfer fee of £44 million, which could reportedly reach as high as £49m.

Much was expected of the England international, who can play as a winger, attacking midfielder or forward, but he has endured a disappointing 2015-16 campaign.

The 21-year-old has scored six goals and created 35 chances in 31 Premier League appearances for City this season.

In 10 Championship matches for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this campaign, Sterling scored three goals and created 15 chances.

City are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 65 points from 37 matches.
