Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mavididi's under-21 performance

Stephy Mavididi

Stephy Mavididi netted twice for Arsenal's under-21 side as they beat Aston Villa.

Stephy Mavididi added to his growing reputation by scoring a brace to seal promotion for Arsenal's under-21 side.

The young Gunners were in a play-off with Aston Villa, and took it seriously, fielding Santi Cazorla as he stepped up his return from injury.

Francis Coquelin was another familiar face in the starting line up for Arsenal, who won the game 3-1.

Mavididi netted a brace, with both of his goals provided by Chris Willock, who netted Arsenal's opener as they recovered from going a goal down early on.

To be making an impact for the under-21s at just 17 shows that Mavididi has a bright future ahead of him, and this is only enhanced by the fact he is learning from Thierry Henry in coaching sessions.

He now has 13 goals in 18 under-21 games this season, an excellent strike rate, translating his prolific under-18s form into the higher level.

The next stop is the first team, with it likely only a question of when, rather than if he will get a chance.

Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to his two-goal display...
