Teddy Sheringham said on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10:30am, May 8) that Harry Kane should not leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has been in superb form this season.
The 22-year-old has scored 25 goals and created 43 chances in 37 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this campaign.
There could be offers for the England international striker from bigger clubs in the summer, but former Tottenham striker Sheringham believes that Kane should not leave White Hart Lane.
The former Nottingham Forest and Manchester United star has also suggested that Kane is a better striker than Jamie Vardy, and has backed the Spurs man to start ahead of the Leicester City player for England at the Euro 2016 finals in the summer.
“I think he is the complete striker,” said Sheringham about Kane on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10:30am, May 8). “That’s why he pips Vardy for me to play of England in the summer because he has everything and he can adapt to any situation in a game.”
“I don’t think there is any reason for Harry to be going anywhere at the moment,” added the former England international. “I think there will be a lot of people after him, without a shadow of a doubt, but I think he is comfortable at the moment.
“I think he likes the manager that he is playing for there. I think it would be foolish of him to leave. I mean, he is still a very, very young lad in footballing terms and another year at Tottenham would do him no harm at all.”
Vardy has been brilliant for Leicester this season and has helped the Foxes win the Premier League title.
The 29-year-old striker has scored 24 goals and created 46 chances in 35 league matches this campaign.
