Everton were beaten comfortably by Leicester City at the weekend.
The Blues have endured another disappointing campaign as they are set to finish outside of the top 10 for the second successive season.
They were at their worst on Saturday afternoon as champions Leicester City beat them in a dreadful display from the Toffees.
It is not the first time Everton have failed to turn up for a game this year, and Wilkins says he believes their major problem has been the failure to find a balance in their play.
“You’ve got to find that balance,” he told talkSPORT. “Everton with the ball aren’t bad, but without it they’re very comfortable to play against. I think that’s been their problem.”
It now remains to be seen if a change in manager will take place at Goodison Park, with the pressure firmly on current boss Roberto Martinez.
As his side have struggled, the blame has been placed firmly at the Spaniard’s door, with fans vociferously calling for his sacking sooner rather than later.
The display against the Foxes will have done nothing to help his cause and only time will tell if he remains at the helm beyond the summer.
