The 21-year-old sent his congratulations to the ex-Whites' captain.
The 28-year-old defender, whose two-and-a-half year spell at Elland Road ended 18 months ago, started 28 league outings as the Latics sealed their return to England's second tier at the first time of asking.
This time last year, Wigan had been relegated into the third tier, just three years after winning the FA Cup under Roberto Martinez, and Pearce celebrated their return to the Championship with a reminder on Twitter.
What a difference a year makes. Relegation to champions. ⚪️⚪️ pic.twitter.com/OZtq5tlWep— Jason Pearce (@jpearce05) May 8, 2016
The Whites' defender Ross Killock later sent his congratulations to the former Leeds captain.
Pearce's former club finished 13th in the Championship, but it did, at one point, look like it could be a lot worse, but Steve Evans, who replaced Uwe Rosler at Elland Road back in October, successfully guided the club well clear of relegation.
Even though that was his remit, it remains to be seen if the Scot has done enough in the demanding eyes of owner Massimo Cellino to keep his job.
