The 31-year-old has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who has represented both Arsenal and Chelsea, signed a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit last summer, but a clause in that contract stipulates that he can leave on a Bosman after 12 months if he wants.
As a result, the Frenchman, who has been excellent for les Phoceens this season, has reportedly courted interest from bigger clubs, with Tottenham among those keen on swooping for him according to L'Equipe.
The France international admitted to The Sun that there is a "great chance" he would leave the Stade Velodrome, but stopped short of suggesting an alternative destination.
“There is a great chance I leave Marseille. We will see. I’ve never spoken to other clubs. I hear a lot of things, I say nothing.”
The well-travelled Frenchman has represented eight clubs in the past 11 years, including a brief spell in Russia where he played for Anzhi Makhachkala and Lokomotiv Moscow.
He left England in 2009 to join Real Madrid from Portsmouth, whom he joined 18 months previous after becoming frustrated at a lack of first-team chances with Arsenal.
Diarra only spent six months with the Gunners following a move from Chelsea.
