A large majority of Queens Park Rangers fans on social media site Twitter have been left angry and frustrated by the club’s decision to allow Alejandro Faurlin to leave Loftus Road.
Faurlin’s contract expired at the end of the season, and Rangers opted against offering the Argentine a new deal.
Faurlin is one of seven players to depart QPR, but his exit is the one which has frustrated supporters of the London club the most.
The 29-year-old was regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in QPR’s squad, and he remains a fans’ favourite at Loftus Road.
Rangers supporters are largely baffled as to why Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink thinks he can attract better, and they have expressed their disappointment. Here is the best reaction.
@alefaurlin Awful decision IMO. Superb footballer.— Peter Jeffery (@PeterJeffery7) May 9, 2016
All the best for future.
@alefaurlin well if we can afford to get rid of you, I'm so excited at the thought of how good your replacement must be! You are a legend.— Paul Varcoe (@Varcs) May 9, 2016
@alefaurlin what a completely rash decision by the club to let our best player depart, thank you for everything— Carl (@CarlSHR_) May 9, 2016
@alefaurlin absolutely wrong call. still best midfielder at QPR - one who can actually pass the ball to team mates. thanks Ale and good luck— malcolm skinner (@malski_qpr) May 9, 2016
@alefaurlin We are gutted. What a stupid decision by the club. We have love having you as one of our players. Every Moment.. :(— TheVinylBuyersClub (@TheVinylBuyers) May 9, 2016
Faurlin joined QPR back in 2009, and despite a series of injury problems he still made 142 appearances for the club.
The technically adept midfielder impressed with his fine range of passing, combined with his skill in possession.
Faurlin made 30 appearances for QPR in the 2015/16 campaign, but he did not hit the back of the net.
