John Sheridan is the new favourite for the Leeds United job.
Former Leeds midfielder John Sheridan has emerged as the new favourite for the head coach job at the Whites.
SkyBet have placed Sheridan at 6/4 favourite for the position, with previous favourite Walter Zenga's odds drifting to 4/1.
Sheridan 51, is currently the manager of Oldham Atheltic, taking over in Janaury for a second time.
During this spell he has won 40 per cent of his games in charge, with Oldham 17th in League One, avoiding relegation, with five wins from their last 10 games.
The former Republic of Ireland international played for Leeds during the 1980s, making more than 200 appearances.
Sheridan would certainly be a popular appointment at the club and energise the fanbase, but he has not managed at Championship level before.
His previous roles include Plymouth Argyle, Newport County, and Chesterfield, who he led to promotion from League Two in 2012, although suffered relegation the following year.
