According to the Mirror, Stoke City are keen on signing Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond this summer.
The report claims that the Potters are still interested in West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino, yet with the England star valued so highly by the Baggies, Redmond is deemed a cheaper alternative.
The England under-21 international has been one of Norwich’s better performers this season, scoring five goals and adding a further two assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
In spite of his efforts, however, it looks as though Alex Neil’s men will be making an immediate return to the Championship as they fall four points adrift of safety with only two games remaining.
Stoke are in need of freshening up their squad this summer, and adding the 22-year-old would give Mark Hughes’ side some added width and strength in the midfield area.
With Marko Arnautovic seemingly set to leave the Britannia Stadium this summer, there is an extra emphasis on bringing in some more attacking players with pace very much at the top of the agenda.
Redmond is said to be keen on staying in the top flight regardless of Norwich’s position, although the Norfolk side will want to see a decent return on their initial £3.2 million investment on the player.
