Former West Bromwich Albion and Reading manager Steve Clarke said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, May 6) that Tottenham Hotspur will finish second in the Premier League table this season.
Tottenham are second in the standings at the moment with 70 points from 36 matches, three points clear of North London rivals Arsenal, who are currently third in the league table.
Having failed to win the league title this season, the pressure is now on Mauricio Pochettino's side to finish second and above the Gunners.
Clarke believes that Tottenham will do just that and finish above Arsenal in the Premier League table.
“Favourite for me is Tottenham,” said Clarke on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, May 6) when asked who are favourites to finish second - Tottenham or Arsenal.
“I think they deserve to finish second,” added the former Scotland international. “I think they will pick up enough points in their last two games to do that.”
Tottenham are favourites to finish second, but today’s games in the Premier League are very important.
Spurs will take on Southampton at White Hart Lane, while Arsenal will face Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium.
The Gunners have the more difficult fixture, but Tottenham cannot be complacent of winning against the Saints.
