Tottenham are second in the league table at the moment with 70 points from 37 matches, just two points ahead of North London rivals Arsenal, who are currently third in the standings.
Spurs lost 2-1 to Southampton at White Hart Lane on Sunday, while Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in their Premier League game.
Following Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s defeat at home, former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar suggested on Twitter that Dembele and Alli should be blamed if they fail to finish above Arsenal.
Both are currently suspended and will miss Tottenham’s final game of the season against relegation candidates Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Wonder if Arsenal will win today. If they do then go on to win the next game they could end 2nd. Dembele and Alli got a lot to answer to.— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) May 8, 2016
Arsenal may have failed to win against City, but they can still pip Tottenham to the second spot in the Premier League table this season.
