West Ham were beaten 4-1 by Swansea City at Upton Park yesterday.
Bilic admitted that Swansea were the better team at Upton Park, after the Welsh side ran out 4-1 winners over his team.
West Ham went into the match as heavy favourites, but they did not back up their lofty league position through their performance.
The Hammers put in an off-colour display, and their defending was poor throughout the contest.
Bilic made no excuses for his side after the match, and Kilbane appreciated the Croatian manager’s honesty.
“It was a total off day for West Ham,” Kilbane said. “He [Bilic] was very good in his interview there to suggest that [Swansea were the better team]. They created a lot going forward but as a back four they were very poor today. It was totally unusual for them this season.”
Swansea stormed into a 3-0 lead at Upton Park, before West Ham truly reacted to the situation.
Bilic’s men grabbed a late goal back from Diafra Sakho, but it was not to be - as Bafetimbi Gomis completed the triumph for the Swans.
The defeat has surely ended West Ham’s chances of breaking into the top four this season.
West Ham’s final two fixtures of the campaign come against Manchester United and Stoke City.
