Kevin Kilbane and Ian Wright predict Sunderland v Everton

Sunderland are due to face Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening.

Both Ian Wright and Kevin Kilbane have told BBC Match of the Day, which was broadcast on 7th May, that they believe Sunderland will beat Everton on Wednesday evening to secure their safety.

The Black Cats take on Roberto Martinez’s struggling side at the Stadium of Light in midweek, knowing that a victory would keep them in the Premier League for another season.

Sunderland have put together a strong run of form to make out of the relegation zone, and Kilbane and Wright both have confidence in Sam Allardyce’s side beating the drop.

“I think they’ll beat Everton on Wednesday,” Kilbane predicted.

“I think so too,” Wright agreed.

Everton go into the match at the Stadium of Light having failed to win any of their last five away matches, giving Allardyce’s men reason for optimism that they will be able to pick up the three points.

Sunderland went into yesterday’s matches with their survival chances starting to look bleak.

However, their 3-2 victory over Chelsea, combined with Newcastle United and Norwich City dropping points, has made them heavy favourites to avoid the drop.

Sunderland now only need to pick up one win from their final two matches to avoid being relegated.

The Black Cats face Watford on the final day of the season at Vicarage Road, but Allardyce will be hoping that his side’s survival is already confirmed by that point.
