Ahead of their match with Sunderland, Jamie Redknapp says Everton are the team everybody wants to play.
Jamie Redknapp has summed up how badly Everton's stock has fallen, by insisting they are the team everybody wants to play.
Everton face an uphill task simply to finish in the top 10, and are 14 points behind rivals Liverpool, who themselves are only in a disappointing eighth place.
The Toffees play relegation battling Sunderland in midweek, and Redknapp believes they are ripe for the picking, with manager Roberto Martinez's job under scrutiny and fans frustrated.
"After the euphoria of the weekend, the Stadium of Light will be absolutely rocking on Wednesday night. And Jermain Defoe will be licking his lips."
Everton were the fall guys at the weekend against newly crowned champions Leicester City, losing 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.
They recently agonisingly missed out on a FA Cup final place to Manchester United, conceding a last minute goal in the Wembley semi-final.
Everton have won only two of their last 10 league games, one of which was against bottom side Aston Villa.
