Jamie Redknapp says he is impressed with how Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts has performed at Celtic.
Former England international Jamie Redknapp has praised Manchester City's decision to sanction Patrick Roberts' loan move to Celtic.
Roberts has made a big impression at Celtic, helping them win another Scottish title, their fifth in a row. Redknapp believes Roberts will look back on this season with fond memories.
He told The Mail: "Whoever decided to send him on loan to Celtic in February made an inspired decision.
"He has been playing and scoring in front of big crowds and now has a league title. That's given him a taste of success and puts him way ahead of City's other kids."
Celtic also benefited from Manchester City loaning them defender Jason Denayer last season, and he is a player fans of the Citizens are desperate to see given a chance. He is currently on loan to Galatasaray, with City experiencing defensive troubles with Vincent Kompany's continuing injury issues.
Roberts, now 19, has scored five goals in nine Scottish Premiership games since his loan spell began.
His loan has also experienced moments of disappointment too, with Roberts missing a great chance in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers, which they went on to lose on penalties.
