Oh Tottenham, stop teasing Arsenal this way.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) May 8, 2016
Lineker has been willing Leicester City on to win the Premier League title all season, and now the Match of the Day presenter has got his wish, he has been able to go back to supporting Spurs.
Lineker was not able to celebrate victory earlier today, however, as Tottenham fell to defeat against Southampton.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had taken the lead against Southampton when Heung Min-Son tucked home from close range early on, but they took their foot off the gas and were made to pay.
Steven Davis netted a brace to secure the three points for the south coast side, and provide hope for Arsenal in the race for second spot.
Tottenham had looked to be on their way to finishing above the Gunners for the just the second time in the Premier League, but that is now in serious doubt.
Arsenal are expected to win their final match against Aston Villa, and Spurs will need to ensure that they do not lose to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park to maintain their grip in second spot.
