Nottingham Forest won against Milton Keynes Dons away from home in the Championship on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Gary Gardner has taken to social networking site Twitter to thank the fans for their support for him.

Gardner joined Forest on loan from Aston Villa in the January transfer window and is now scheduled to return to Villa Park.

The 23-year-old has thanked the Reds’ fans for their support, and has suggested that he enjoyed his time at the City Ground.

The midfielder has also congratulated teammate Britt Assombalonga for scoring the winner in Forest’s 2-1 victory over Milton Keynes Dons at Stadium mk in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Jorge Grant, a 21-year-old midfielder, has also shown his appreciation of Forest fans on Twitter, while goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov has predicted that the team will come back stronger next season.

Forest have ended the 2015-16 Championship campaign in the bottom half of the table.

It has not been a successful season for the Reds, but the lifting of the transfer embargo in the summer could lead to the signings of some good players, which should make the team more competitive for the 2016-17 campaign.
