Leeds United failed to win against Preston North End in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has told BBC Sport (15:13) that he feels for defender Scott Wootton.

The Leeds defender came on at half time in the Championship game against Preston North End away from home at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old cost the West Yorkshire outfit a win in their final game of the season, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Wootton lost the ball to Jordan Hugill, who could not find Eoin Doyle with his first touch but hammered his second past Marco Silvestri.

That was in the second minute of injury time, and Evans has said that until then, the former Manchester United prospect had played well.

"I feel for Scott Wootton and I thought up until then he did really well,” Evans told BBC Sport (15:13). “I felt for all my players at the end.”

Over the course of Deepdale on Saturday afternoon, hosts Preston had 55% of the possession, took 16 shots of which five were on target, and earned seven corners.

Visitors Leeds had 45% of the possession, took 10 shots of which just two were on target, and earned six corners.
