The young defender has been a shining light in a dark season for Bolton Wanderers.

Everton and Bournemouth are considering bids for Bolton youngster Rob Holding, reports the Mirror.

The central defender has been one of the few bright spots for the Trotters in a dismal season that has ended in relegation to League One.

He was given his chance to impress in the first team by former manager Neil Lennon back in August and has since gone on to make 26 appearances in the Championship.

They have been solid displays as well, with the club’s fans selecting him as their Player of the Year as a result.

They have not gone unnoticed by Premier League clubs either as Everton and Bournemouth are interested in his services, according to the Mirror.

No serious bid has been made for his services just yet, with both clubs simply keeping an eye on his development.

If he were to leave, Everton would surely be his preferred destination given how they have developed young talent in recent years.

The shining light has been obviously been central defender John Stones in that regard, and Holding would surely fancy following a similar rise as what the former Barnsley man has enjoyed.
