The Austrian has been impressive when he has featured for Spurs this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have had an impressive season in the Premier League, pushing Leicester City all the way in the fight for the title.

With that in mind they will be looking to improve on their current squad and not lose players, although it seems that one of their fringe players has admiring eyes in Germany.

Kicker is reporting that Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg are hoping to bring defender Kevin Wimmer back to the country this summer.

Wolfsburg have had a poor season in their domestic campaign and are looking to strengthen their defence in the summer.

The report suggests Wimmer as the man they want to shore things up, but that Tottenham are reluctant to sell the Austrian international.

Wimmer only arrived at Spurs from Koln last summer and despite initially struggling to play regular football for the club he proved himself an excellent deputy for Jan Vertonghen when the Belgian was out with a knee injury.

He has featured 21 times for the club this season and with Champions League football coming to Spurs it would seem odd if they were to weaken their defensive options this summer.
