Liverpool hosted the La Liga side at Anfield on Thursday evening in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.
It was an excellent evening from them too as they ran out 3-0 winners in a more than comfortable victory for them.
As usual, the atmosphere in a European tie was electric at Anfield, more so as it was the first game at home for the side following the Hillsborough verdicts.
And as far as Lovren is concerned, it topped the one from the game against Borussia Dortmund.
"It was a beautiful game. I think everybody enjoyed watching the game," the defender told Liverpoolfc.com.
“As I said before the game, everything is possible here at Anfield, it's tough for every opponent to play here and expect something.”
"The 12th player helped us, our fans, the atmosphere was really amazing - even better than against Dortmund. It was an amazing game."
Liverpool now travel to Basel in two weeks time for the Europa League final confident of making the trophy theirs.
There they will take on another Spanish side, Sevilla FC, who are likely to provide sterner competition than Villarreal managed.
They have won the trophy for the last two years running, and are keen to make it a treble against the Reds, who have not featured in a European final in the last nine years.
