West Ham have already been linked with a number of forwards across Europe.
Acquiring a striker appears to be chief among their plans, with reports already linking them to forwards across Europe.
Who they look to target remains to be seen, with much likely to rest on if they can secure a top four place by the end of the campaign.
As far as Clarke is concerned, they don’t need to add a lot of new players, but he claims they are obsessed with strikers.
“If you look at the season they have had, then they probably don’t need a lot,” he told Sky Sports.
“I think they’ve done good work over the last two or three years and built a good squad. They’ll look to bring in one or two, I know the co-chairmen well and they’re obsessed with strikers.”
A top four finish, and Champions League football next season, would certainly help West Ham to attract big names next season.
The Premier League is likely to be a busy one for transfer this summer, and having that in their cap would be a major bonus for the Hammers in their pursuits.
First they must secure it though, with the game in hand against fifth placed Manchester United looking key to their chances of doing so.
