The final team is yet to be decided, with Middlesbrough and Brighton fighting it out on Saturday to secure fourth placed.
The lottery of the play offs means there can be no favourites despite the gap in points between the four sides.
When pressed to pick who he thinks will progress though, Clarke says he would pick Steve Bruce’s Hull City as his victors.
“They’re all good teams, Sheffield Wednesday have done well to get in there,” he told Sky Sports.
“But if you had to pin me down, I think Hull City. I’m surprised that Hull didn’t get into the top two.”
“When you looked at them earlier in the season, with Steve Bruce’s experience, they looked like a team that would come through automatically.”
Hull City will certainly be disappointed to find themselves in the play offs given they started the season so well.
As Clarke says, the experience of manager Steve Bruce could be crucial as he has led sides from the Championship on several occasions before now.
One of those was a play off win with Birmingham back in 2002, and he will be hoping that knowledge can serve him well in what promises to be an exciting affair.
