Paul Merson believes Arsenal will close the gap on Tottenham with games against Manchester City and Southampton?
Just three points separate the two teams with two games remaining, but Merson believes this gap will be slashed down to just one point heading into the final day of the season.
He says after Spurs' Monday night draw with Chelsea which ended their title challenge, he believes Southampton will be tough opponents and will claim a draw at White Hart Lane, predicting a 2-2 scoreline.
He said: "They've had a great season, but I think this will be a difficult game. I'm going to go 2-2, I think Southampton are a decent team, and Tottenham may just have a hangover."
The effects of a midweek European game he claims will weigh heavily on City heading into their home game with Arsenal, calling a 2-1 win for the Gunners, his former side.
He said: "If there's ever a chance for Arsenal to win at the Etihad again, this is the game. If they don't win this game, you'd have to ask serious questions. Man City are there for the taking, all day long."
Spurs play earlier on Sunday, allowing them to set the tone for the Arsenal game, either pulling away from their rivals, or dropping points and giving Arsene Wenger's side extra motivation.
The results Merson predicts would set up a huge final day of the season with just one point separating the two teams, with Spurs visiting relegation battlers Newcastle, with Arsenal hosting already relegated Aston Villa.
Merson however is inconsistent with his predictions, or at least hedging his bets. Asked on Thursday's SkySports Fantasy Football podcast where Arsenal will finish this season, he responded: "Fourth."
