Paul Merson points out a positive for Arsenal star Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Arsenal winger has picked up another injury to rule him out of Euro 2016.

Paul Merson has pointed a positive for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain despite his latest injury news, via Sky Sportsbroadcast May 6th.

The winger was battling back from an injury picked up in the loss to Barcelona, as he eyed a place in England’s squad for Euro 2016.

That has been curtailed now though, with manager Arsene Wenger confirming he has picked up another injury that will rule him out of the tournament.

It is the latest injury in a long line for Chamberlain, but Merson has insisted that he still has plenty of time on his hands to develop into the player many expected.

“It is disappointing for him, but he’s still young,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think the lad needs a good rest and then a good pre-season. It seems to me keeps coming back and he’s not fully fit.”

“He’s got plenty of time on his hands; he’s not thirty odd years of age he’s a young kid still. He’ll be back to being the player we all expect him to be.”

It will now be interesting to see if Arsenal stick by Oxlade Chamberlain after this latest injury.

He has been beset by injury problems since his arrival at the club, and they have seen him fail to develop into the player many believed he could become.

Before this injury there had been talk of an exit from the club this summer and perhaps they will now decide to cut ties with him as the club prepares for a crucial summer transfer window.
