City will take on North London outfit Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Owen believes that Manuel Pellegrini’s side will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 victory.
“Manchester City are in danger of not finishing in the top four if they don’t beat Arsenal,” the former Newcastle United striker wrote on Colossusbets.com. “They rested players for their Southampton match last week, ahead of their Champions League game against Real Madrid on Wednesday, and it backfired badly in a 4-2 loss.
“It will be all hands to the pump on Sunday though and I take them to beat Arsenal, unconvincing in a 1-0 defeat of Norwich, 3-1.”
City are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 64 points from 36 matches. There is a chance that the Citizens could miss out on the top four, and they have to win against Arsenal.
The Gunners are three points ahead of Pellegrini’s side in third, and they will be pushing to finish second ahead of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Playing at home will be an advantage for City, who will head into the game against the Gunners as favourites.
Arsenal will head into the encounter on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over relegation candidates Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.
