Newcastle will take on already relegated Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Magpies need to pick up all three points from the encounter in order to maintain their chances of retaining their Premier League status for next season.
Rafael Benitez’s side are in good form at the moment and will head into the match as favourites.
Former Newcastle striker Owen believes that the Magpies will win the Premier League match.
“Newcastle have got eight points from their last four games following the 1-0 defeat of Palace, and you have to expect them to get the better of Aston Villa, even though the reverse fixture ended 1-1 in December,” the former England international wrote on Colossusbets.com. “It could be a nervy affair, but I just take Newcastle to edge it 2-1.”
Villa have nothing to play for, and their recent performances and results in the Premier League have been dire.
One suspects that the Villa players will be determined to put on a show for the fans in what is the team’s final game at Villa Park this season, but Newcastle should have enough to pick up all three points.
Newcastle are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 33 points from 36 matches, a place and a point above the relegation zone.
