Michael Ball hits out at Everton board by praising Liverpool

Liverpool beat Villarreal 3-0 at Anfield on Thursday.

Former Everton defender Michael Ball has hit out at Everton’s board on Twitter, by praising Liverpool.

There is a wave of discontent surrounding Goodison Park this year as a disappointing campaign has seen calls for Roberto Martinez to be sacked.

Across Stanley Park though Liverpool are riding high on positivity as they continue to flourish under Jurgen Klopp.

The German was brought in back in October as a replacement for Brendan Rodgers as the Reds struggled at the beginning of the season.

It has proved to be an inspired decision as he has led them to the Europa League final, and Ball has praised them for making a swift change.

The comments from Ball are clearly a dig at the Everton board as they continue to remain silent on Martinez’s future at the club.

The pressure has been steadily rising on the Spaniard for a number of months, with fans protesting against him after the win over Bournemouth last weekend.

He is yet to be sacked though, and there has been no indication that the club intend to do so either, despite Everton’s struggles.
