The goalkeeper was the hero for West Ham Under-21s this week.
The goalkeeper was the hero this week as the young Hammers secured League Cup success.
In a tight game, West Ham were leading until the last minutes when Hull City managed a late equaliser.
The game could not be decided in extra time, leading to the lottery of penalties, with all but one being converted in the shootout.
That was because of Spiegel, whose super save against Daniel Batty ensure it would be his side winning the trophy.
Teammate Samuelson was impressed, backing the goalkeeper to go far in the game.
"The save [Raphael made] was incredible,” he told whufc.com.
“Throughout the whole game he made some really good saves for us that kept us in the game. He's a fantastic goalkeeper who will go far in the game."
Unfortunately for Spiegel, he faces a fight to get first team football at West Ham in the coming years.
Adrian is very much the confirmed number one at the club, while Darron Randolph has proved to be a more than capable deputy when given the chance.
Slaven Bilic though, has proven he is willing to give youth a chance and Spiegel will be hoping that can push through in future.
